Thx so much. You guys have been very helpful. I guess i wont have any checked baggages. If I didnt get it wrong, I can leave in Houston without taking the the 2nd (connecting) flight? any no penalty for no show?

I used flights from today's schedule, but the idea should work most any time...
If not 1K, you'll pay a phone ticketing fee if you use an agent. No biggie. Also, close-in fee, if within those parameters. I believe my scenario can be booked online, so no phone fees.
