7303 ORD-IAH and 1229/423 IAH-DEN-SFO would give you about a 3 hour "layover" in IAH. Since you have a meeting in Houston, you'll need the materials in your checked bag during your layover, so have the TA "stop" the bag at IAH when you check in at ORD. Or, carry-on

I used flights from today's schedule, but the idea should work most any time...

If not 1K, you'll pay a phone ticketing fee if you use an agent. No biggie. Also, close-in fee, if within those parameters. I believe my scenario can be booked online, so no phone fees.
