Lost luggage – busted vacation
DL award flight in coach on SU. Departed 10/12 from LAX, arrived 10/13 in SVO and of course my luggage was not there.
This is not the first time airline lost my luggage but this was definitely first time I experienced worst customer service EVER.
The bag lost contained snowboard, boots, and equipment. SUs customer service lost luggage desk suggested I wait 2 hours until they sort out all transfer luggage because my bag might be there and it just got mixed up with other transfer luggage. I wasn’t happy but I patiently waited, I had no other choice, in 2 days I had to leave with a group and I needed my snowboard, this was the reason I traveled. 2 hours past and nothing happened, there is no point in discussing rude behavior of SVO stuff, I am sure anyone who passed through SVO one time or another shares my antipathy. Anyway, I filled out lost luggage form, informed the clerk that I need to leave in 2 days (like they cared), left my contact information, begged for a phone call as soon as they know something. Next day: no call (what a surprise!) so I am calling everyone trying to get anyone on the phone who knows anything. After about 3 hours they tell me that my bag is still in LAX and will be on the next plane to SVO. Mixed filling here, happy to know at least something but somehow very hard to believe that I will get it in time. This is exactly what happened. Plane arrived next day, my bag was not there… Again, no one was able to help, I had no more time to wait, so I left without my snowboard. Eventually they delivered it to my friends house 4 days latter. I was not there, I did not need it anymore. That’s it.
I apologize if this story was not coherent, I was trying to express my frustration.
I don’t know if there is a valid complaint somewhere, should it be on DL (I guess not) or SU (hate to deal with them again)
