And I don't quite understand why he was canned. I looked at all of his 4 posts and didn't see anything out of line. Not even the overall context (since something could have been omitted) seemed out of line.
Wikipedia is even worse. There the moderators are selected from the audience. After they get their power, it is irrevocable for practical purposes. A few moderators (not all) are essentially like little Stalins or Saddams. They revoke privileges if they don't like what you post then delete your posts (called edits). I've even seen people banned for entering into a discussion and writing "I think we should consider both sides"
That's why FT is a far superior website than wikipedia!
