Fri afternoon to Sun morning - Heidelberg, Bonn, or other?
I will be in a suburb of Frankfurt for a week. I will have free from Friday afternoon, leaving out of FRA at noon on Sunday.
I figure I will check out Frankfurt and Mainz in the evenings while I am there. So that leaves a couple days free, but has to be within 2-3 hours of FRA. I can have a car, or not, depending on which is easier.
I will likely have a car, but will be by myself. I like local flavor more than museums, but do like history.
Can I do Heidelberg in the evenings and see most of it? It is just a 20 minute train trip for me. That would leave other choices for the weekend.
Is Bonn interesting enough for a weekend? Should I consider other areas?
