I think that UA with installing their new seats is also DECREASING the number of business class seats in the cabin (to allow for the seats themselves).

This translates into far LESS upgrade potential.

AA on the other hand (in the 777s) increased their J number of seats.

Which would you rather have? Less chance of an upgrade .. or a slightly better seat?

My choice is an upgrade to any old/new/good/bad Business Class seat.
