Cabcharge cards incur no surcharge at all - my employer issues staff with them for this reason.

Cabcharge does charge 10% service fee + 10% GST on the service fee, because it used to confuse me no end when trying to reconcile Australian cab charges on a NZ credit card.

The biggest problem was when a manual transaction ('zip-zap') was done, and the total written on the receipt was eg $40, but the amount that hit my CC was $44.40. I contested a whole bunch of charges until I discovered the very small print on the paper which said "10% + 10% GST".

As far as Qantas' fee goes, this is ridiculous: credit cards are the primary way of paying for travel services and always have been. Air NZ do not charge a CC fee, for instance.

Our corporate travel agent offers no other way to settle our bill except credit card, and we spend in the region of $1m a month with them.... no % fees there either.
