1600$ is no compensation when you consider 7400$ for a C-Class ticket and lets say 1400 $ for an half-flexible H-class (i dont want to grab too deep in the box and compare it with S class).
7400-1400 = 6000 / 2 = 3000$ would be a reasonable compensation since it reflects the real value for someone on full fare.
This wouldn't even be compensation. The $3000 is only the price difference. Compensation should come on top of that because you are inconvenienced by traveling in Y, you will be (even more) tired for your meeting the next morning etc.
