I've got a small amount of ESOP shares from my previous postion at UA before I started flying. The ESOP was not a successful transaction for those that participated, based on the stock performance for the 12-14 months. And it was a huge failure in terms of changing the corporate culture....those that made the most monetary contributions to the ESOP (the pilot group) are amongst those most upset about the outcome.

AFA was not offered the same sorts of job-security protections that were provided to the ALPA and IAM groups, thus no participation in the ESOP.

In my first post I did not mean to imply that AFA would conduct any self-help actions that might be illegal.....

To all - I hope we can avoid another SFH. Unfortunately, given the state of the ATC system, lack of infrastructure investment etc. I suspect this one won't be too much better regardless of any management/labor problems at the airlines.

And to Bear96 - keep up the good work!
