Should UA go through with the purchase of US without the contractual consent of the AFA, it looks like not only will AFA be taking UA to court on the grounds of contract violations, but the union is saying we will implement CHAOS strikes.

My understanding - should UA proceed with the financial transactions to purchase US, this will be in direct violation of the AFA scope clause, which has recently been upheld. Therefore, UA would be making a unilateral change to our contract and we would be free to engage in self-help aka strike.
