I sponsored my boss for an upgrade on his HKG to SFO flight. I went to the airport two times to sign the bluey (when I went the first time in DFW agent was not sure how to get it done) and confirmed the day before that his upgrade went through and SWU would be taken on day of travel. He goes to the airport and after spending some time the agent basically says that I had not authorized it. WTH! It was lucky that he had 30,000 miles in his account and they finally used that.

This was my first experience with sponsoring upgrade offline and was wondering did I miss any step. Seems like this was all I had to do based on the FAQ.
