Well, I typically like to sit on at the right window 1-2 rows behind the wing for JFK departures, you get a nice overview of NYC as you depart, and the reverse for arrivals into JFK (the left window) again 1-2 rows behind the wing. I like to see the equipment while I fly from behind the wing. However, according to Seatguru the best seats are in row 12 because it has 36" of legroom. So my take is row 16 or 17.
