Yup I would accept that too if I had no pressing matters. 1600$ for C to Y wouldn't do it for me either - apart from the tempting C tix to anywhere they fly to you could
1) rebook me on another flight/ carrier in C within adequate/ acceptable time frames and compensate if delays too long
2) pay me decent compensation, get me a hotel, and confirm me on next flight in C on LH (e.g. next day's service)
3) upgrade me to F
