Not an impressive stay so far
Being that I need to be at the Moscone Center tomorrow, I decided on a 2-night stay here at the Westin SF on Market Street (well, it's really on Third Street). While it is convenient, this is not a 4* hotel and I am just not impressed.
The check-in process was fine, but the woman who checked me in was not all that welcoming. I was surprised by how small the room was and that I was right across from the ice machine room when I requested a quiet room away from the elevator. Neither of these were a huge concern for me, however, when I was getting ready to go to bed, I discovered a brown stain on my sheets under my blanket and requested that someone come change my sheets at about 11pm. After waiting for a good while for someone to pick up the "service express" phone, I was annoyed that the agent was not apologetic at all and basically said, "so you want someone to change the sheets then?" It took about 20 minutes for someone to come change the sheets and he was rather apologetic, but so far I have to admit that I have no plans to return to this hotel.
It is ironic that the wireless internet at this hotel is sporadic, as I am in town for a CTIA wireless trade show.
