Like charters, ferry flights don't show up among the flights showing in Shares when rebooking options are displayed. An added twist is that it's likely that the ferry isn't even scheduled yet at the time the rebooking is occurring.

This was the case with my flight US 1958 CLT-EWR Friday night. We were diverted to PHL (of all places!) where, when we arrived after midnight, there were no US employees at all to assist us until about 45 mins. to an hour later. The agent I talked with did not know there was a CLT-EWR flight diverted to PHL and since there are no directs from PHL-EWR, all she could do was try to rebook people to LGA, HPN, etc., the next day.

It ended up that the aircraft that made up US 1958 did "ferry" back to EWR the following morning around 6:30 a.m. as US 9012.
