I should elaborate on my first post.
We only have one week, so not necessarily interested in doing more than one island. Oahu is not our first choice. However, we are flying into HNL, so we thought there would be enough to do there and we would go more remote, such as Marriott Ko Olina or Turtle Bay to get away from the hustle and bustle and keep cost down by staying right on Oahu. We're turned off by the construction at Ko Olina, so we're leaning towards Turtle Bay. Anyone been, and care to share their experience at TB? (BTW, when I say keep costs down, I should mention that I have enough accumulated TYN points to cover 5 of the 7 nights at some of the upscale resorts.)
On Hawai'i our main interest would be Volcano National Park, but we're not sure what else we might like to do there.
My wife and I have been to Maui and Kaua'i, so we were kind of ruling those out just to avoid repeating our experience. I know, I know, that's probably kind of selfish related to the kids' experience. (We're open to change our minds)
I guess bottom line, we're open to anything and just looking for some more good advice from fellow parents on their experiences at family-friendly areas on the islands.
