I feel I must interject. I too am fairly blunt with people quite frequently. I hate wasting other people's time and I definitely dislike wasting my own.

What YOU think is a bad idea might be a brilliant idea to someone else who knows their part of the business. Lots of people thought Google was a stupid idea when it was nothing but a search box with no "additional" content. Guess who was wrong?
