To clarify, my timing-is-not-an-issue-in-California post (#22 above) was in response to this:

By which post I meant that serving booze before SQ 015 is not an issue timing-wise. Having been to plenty a nightclub in California, I know perfectly well that nightclubs generally have to make a "last call" in the wee hours of the morning after SQ 001 normally departs. I didn't think we were discussing nighttime serving hours. Evidently, some of us were.

FWIW, now that the issue has been brought up, I sniffed around the law a little bit. The
regulation mentioned only applies to licensees who are selling alcohol for consumption on the premises or off the premises. SKL does not sell alcohol; it gives it away to passengers who have paid (or not paid, in the case of FF awards) for transportation, making any indirect "sale" of alcohol entirely incidental to transport services. Although I don't know, I doubt California law would require SKL to have a retail license. Therefore, while I cannot rule out the possibility, I would be suprised if SKL had an on-sale license. Assuming it does not, and that it is supposed to have some other sort of license allowing it to give away alcohol, the no-booze-can-be-provided-between-2am-and-6am law wouldn't apply to SKL. So even if SKL stayed open late because SQ 001 had been delayed, they wouldn't have to put the liquor away. That said, they might do it anyway-- for any number of reasons.
As for this:

Again, I thought we were discussing use of the SKL prior to SQ flights. I certainly didn't intend, and I don't think anyone understood my post as stating, that SQ wouldn't throw you out of the SKL before your UA flight departs, which would basically oblige SQ to keep the SKL open all day.
With those clarifications
