I post this at the Star Alliance Forum and I thought, this might be the right place to post it. Anyway, how will I know if the business class seats on this flight are the new or the existing ones? I've tried their business class from SIN-BKK about 3 years ago and I was not impressed. Can someone share their experience on this route and on the B777-200 long haul AC?

Nothing has changed. The J seats on 777s to Melbourne are still the same tired , uncomfortable and sub-standard ones for years. More often than not no AVOD either. Last 2 trips I have changed to Thai...much more comfortable, virtually full-recline, always AVOD. Maybe the food is very slightly lesser quality than SQ, but only marginal and in any event comfort levels on Thai are infinitely superior. Cheaper as well. SIA hype and advertising is wearing very thin in the face of what has become a poor product
