A lot of guest books are indexed, so if you go write little entries for places you've gone to visit on trips, museums, other people's personal websites, blogs, etc. its a cheap and fast way to get hits on your name. Many forums that are not password protected are also indexed, so posting questions or answers on a tech help forum might also turn up hits if you used your real name. Writing editorial letters to a local paper that doesn't get a flood of them is another good way to be published; I've found that every time I write a letter to my local independent paper they publish it in both the paper and on their site. A lot of sites also have product reviews, you could write little reviews of products you've used. The key thing is to include your real name obviously, not a handle. Good luck!
