Hilton Sydney tends to like to play the "snob" game a bit. a bit similar to an airline that i know.

Hilton Sydney does do upgrades but its the way it is approached that depends on whether your room is a suite or normal room.

I know of an Fter that i introduce that has cunning scammed the front desk of suites by being dishonest and giving the impression that he is some self important fellow to get upgraded and apparently the front desk manager was taken in and do upgrade him.

If you go by the book, like i do, and play the game honestly, hilton sydney will never upgrade you beyond a room between 34 to 38th floor. The only difference between the rooms are the subtle features like the older looking shower and amenities and newer modern bath facilities on the higher floors.

There are around 28 suites/relaxation rooms in this property. But AFAIK, unless you are paying a discounted rate, there is not much value for money. You can stay at Sheraton which is opp. the road for the same price in a bigger room if you are visiting for extended periods. The hilton sydney also faces the Citibank building which can be awfully uncomfortable if your room faces directly into the offices.

Lounge wise, the new lounge manager does seem a bit stern and less flexible and less accomodating to customer's requests/needs.
