Great post! Really helped me this week getting out of DEL. Just a few updates:
1) Stayed at The Maurya. Lovely hotel but the meet and greet were pants. Had to call on arrival as couldn't find the chap. On return from Dehradun (on train -- and if you think DEL is Hell, try New Delhi Train station

) they had no record of my transportation booking

Thankfully I was traveling with a collegue from our Mumbai office and he sorted out a local cab. For my 8:15 departure, left at 6am on the dot and arrived within 15-20 minutes. Oh and arrival was faster than Heathrow. One person in front of me at immigration and bags arrived within 10 minutes of getting to baggage hall!
2) There was a sign for First/Club/Gold/Silver but no representative to be found, so took advice and went in via shortest queue. Had my new itinerary printed out (changed flight from original). Do it!! It will mean you can get in to the airport!
3) Had my luggage x-rayed at shortest queue machine. However as I got to the BA desk they said I had to use THEIR machine! So make sure you find the BA machine, as only that will do.
After that pretty much as stated. Lounge is an overcrowded pit. Hardly any seats and BA have reserved some tables. So thankfully didn't arrive too early. We were called from the lounge by BA reps and made way through security. Wasn't too bad and quite honestly easier than LHR/LGW.
As stated there is NOTHING beyond this point, so don't go too early if you don't have to.
There was priority boarding for F/J/G/S after those needing assistance were done.
And may damn sure you've got the stamp on your hand luggage tag from security. Otherwise you'll be sent back for re-screening!
Oh and two really terrific flights with two top notch crews ^^^
