Hyatt house (Summerfield) White Plains, NY REVIEW - MASTER THREAD
I was fairly impressed with my first stay at a Hyatt Place, but now I've tried my first Summerfield Suites, and greatly preferred my stay at the Summerfield Suites.
I spent one night at the Hyatt SS White Plains. This property seems to be fairly new, although probably not too new, because it used to be a Wyndham. The hotel is surrounded by office buildiings, and so you really need a car, or you can depend on the hotel's shuttle that goes within a 5 mile radius, which is subject to availability. I used it to take me to the train station twice. There's also a Bee Line bus stop near by too.
Front Desk staff was very pleasant and check in was smooth. I went up to my room and entered a really pleasant 1BR suite with a kitchen, living area, bathroom and bedroom. I've seen a lot of NY apartments smaller than this.
Anyhow, I was very pleasantly surprised by first stay here. At the Hyatt Place, I felt like I was paying for the TV, but here at the summerfields, I felt like my dollar had more value, with the full kitchen, the free evening social hour, the size of the room, and all the other amenities. The hot breakfast consisted of those pre-fabricated type of eggs, but I actually kind of like those.
The rates here are expensive because of the huge corporate offices in the area, but I was lucky in that I had a corporate rate.
