Beware that you'll need to book a certain class of ticket to use your miles to upgrade, and if you can't confirm the upgrade at ticketing you'll be waitlisted (and then it could be a challenge to clear given the higher status ahead of you).

United C is inferrior to many Asian carriers, but if you are using miles to upgrade it is your only option.
