Amtrak Offers Active Military and Active Reservists 20% Off Coach Fare on San Joaquins and Pacific Surfliner Trains
OAKLAND — Amtrak and the State of California (Caltrans) is offering Active Military and Active Reservists 20 percent off coach fare on two popular California routes. Tickets are on sale now through May 22, 2008 for travel during the same period on Amtrak's San Joaquins and Pacific Surfliner trains.

This offer is valid for coach travel only on these routes and associated Thruway Motorcoach services with the exception of the 7000-8999 series buses. Seating is limited and may not be available on all trains at all times.

Pacific Surfliner trains operate 12 daily roundtrips between San Diego and Los Angeles, with five extending to Santa Barbara and two continuing to San Luis Obispo.

Amtrak operates the San Joaquins Service, with six daily round-trips to Bakersfield from Oakland or Sacramento, under a contract with Caltrans.
