Just make sure that you see "*Silver," your DM # and "Group 1" printed on your boarding pass. If you print it from a kiosk, it should be a gold boarding pass. If you get a blue boarding pass, chances are your status is not recorded in the computer. The UA kiosks are pretty good, and will enable you to enter your DM# into the record and re-print your boarding pass. And then hope you get a nice agent who will move you up to E+ for free.
You can also check in online and add your DM# there. That way youll know before you get to the airport if your status is properly reflected or not. You can also reprint your BP at the airport or see if you can find an agent that will move you up to E+ for free. However if you do online check in and you see that there arent too many seats left in E+ (youll be able to view this before doing the upsell, if offered), I'd just pay for the E+ instead of taking your chances of being stuck in E-.
Also, the boarding pass will actually say US Silver on it instead of just *Silver.
