If he is willing to drive to Seattle he can buy a Z fare to LHR for 3413 return plus taxes and fees.
If he asks why it is so much cheaper to fly SEA-YVR-LHR than it is YVR-LHR he will get lots of responses telling him to do a search for the answer.

Sorry, travelsig. I neglected to include that critical tidbit of the city pairs.
I've been able to get 3 award seats in J for the noted flights and am considering purchasing a ticket for the fourth seat. If I do so, I want to make sure I was able to get the lowest fare, which, from what I've read in the Sticky, is Z. I'm simply confirming with the "experts" that it is the lowest fare for those flights.
I have looked at UA thru ORD and am also considering that. For obvious reasons, my preference would be a direct, NS flight from YVR.
SEA would also be an option.
