a few comments:
Trinidad is roughly 50/50 African/Indian decent if you don't include Europeans and Chinese (and don't consider the sizeable number of people who count all of those heritages in their background) so you may get just about anyone
When calling from the US I have never gotten someone in Trinidad- my understanding was that the call centre their only served the Caribbean (which is a sizeable market for AA)- YMMV on this one
Trinidadians speak English as their first language
So as not to stray too far off-topic, the receipt I received via email started with this:
"American Airlines® would like to thank you for your preference in using our exclusive Express Ticket ServiceSM for your travel needs."

but like i said, no phone fee was applied, and I purchased two separate tickets.
