Not UA, but when I worked at FL the FA had dropped the credit card reader on her foot. It was broken (her foot, not the card reader) and we ferried the plane back. Because there were no pax, I had the opportunity to jumpseat but my supervisor would not let me go. That day sucked as it is not easy to explain to 137 people why a flight is cacelled because a FA has a broken foot.
