At London City airport, in the days when the flight in from Dublin was the last arrival of the day I was more than once (if one of the few waiting for hold baggage) the last out of the terminal and the security guard locked the door after us. In fact once he had it already locked and was there ready to open it again for us last stragglers, like leaving a shop at closing time.

More recently I got back to the terminal, having had a run-around London due to misplaced car keys, about half an hour after they closed. The car park payment machine was inside the terminal building. No trouble, knock on the door, a guard eventually saw me, opened up for me, and closed up again after had paid for the parking.

There was a more spectacular fiasco at a nearby railway station where the last train of the day was late in but the last staff on duty had overlooked this and locked up the station and put all the lights out and gone home. Train arrived, everyone got out onto the dark platform, but couldn't get on out of the building. Passenger used a telephone on a railway signal at the end of the platform to the railway control centre, Railway Police arrived by car but couldn't get across the fence, nobody sure where any keys were, new vandal-proof fencing and doors prevented anyone getting in or out. Apparently it took hours to sort out.
