747 LAX to IAD -- indicator lamp would not illuminate
Frustrating for the crew too. The first officer/captain came over the PA and announced the issue. The system was working but the indicator wasn't. They spent some time troubleshooting but ended up having to go back to the gate -- no one was willing to waive the pre-check requirement that the lamp works. I forget if we had to deplane or not.
