It's kinda a sad story. Boring, too. My mother had passed away on a Sunday evening at one of the Mayo Clinic hospitals. As we were gathering our belongings, I agreed to drop off my sister's rental car at RST, which is about 10-15 miles south of Rochester.

My wife was supposed to be trailing behind me, but missed the exit and ended up driving all the way to Iowa before noticing her mistake. (This was in pre-cell phone days. And that's what I get for telling her the airport was a "long ways" from the city.) So, while I waited for her for over an hour, the last flight arrived, they closed all the rental booths, the taxi cabs left after being assured I needed no ride, and the security staff finally asked me if I'd be willing to wait outside so they could lock the doors.

So, my mom has just died, my wife has abandoned me, and I've been booted from the airport to sit outside in the Minnesota cold. I've never felt so alone in my life.
That's just awful!
Cheers
Howie
