Not sure about the DFW-LAX route, but I know that they treat the LAX-JFK route service-wise like an international route. I think AA calls it Flagship service or something. Can't be sure because I've never actually flown that route.
Had pillows ORD-LAX and return in August as well. Can't honestly remember if there were blankets as I don't often use them.
