I tested this today. When you make seat assignment changes on the "My itineraries" page after using the online chicken the changes do not take effect even though it says it does. The
seat change page in "my itineraries" allows you to move the seat. When you click either "Finished" or "Close seat map" it goes to the
confirmation page stating "
Seat(s) assigned successfully." However if you look at the seat assignment for that segment you will see that there was no change.
I reported this to then director of E-commerce (he is no longer with UA). Because of privacy and confidentiality issues I will not quote the exact email text but basically he said my problem report was entered in the ual.com problem database and it would be addressed. That email was dated December 15,
2006. Still no resolution -- almost 10 months later.
Hold on a second. I'm not clear on what you are expecting to do. Are you saying that you expect the following to happen?
1. Previously assigned seat 1A as seen in My Itineraries.
2. Use EasyCheck-in Online to change to seat 2A during the check-in process and finish checking in.
3. Go to My Itineraries and change the seat to 3C
4. Expect that both My Itineraries and EasyCheck-in Online to say your seat is now 3C (and for EasyCheck-in Online to say that you are already checked in and that your seat is now 3C and not 2A).
