I can see the pain and understand the frustration. I think an email to SQ is warranted even if it will not get you any seat. I still think they need to know our displeasure and it never hurts to state such a fact. Worst that happens is that nothing changes.
Along the lines of this redemption problem I dreading the day that only 773ER and A380 (or other new A/C with new C & F cabins) fly all the major routes to Europe and NA. The way it looks right now is that this would mean that the saver award is close to becoming extinct and C and F award tickets can only be redeemed on secondary routes on A/C's that are about to be retired at some point soon (e.g. 773' and 772's in regional config that fly to DXB, LIS, CAI, etc.). Not a happy thought. I much rather sit in a SpaceBed or SkySuite for current Saver Award levels than use double the mileage for new C or F. Such an inflation of award levels would truly "stink". Any opinions ... ????
