The seat (even the old F) is much wider and softer than QF, and have retractable arm rest.
Also QF's F Class is so tight in space no matter which seat you are in you feel cramp compare to CX. They pack 14 vs 12.
It felt like the CX seat was shorter than the QF seat and when flying on CX on the airbus I had the centre seats and have always had the window seat on QF - so I have felt close to the other F pax.
In terms of the first category of being separated from the hoipolloi - that refers to the people behind the curtain rather than the people of substance up the front
