Seems that service lapses ex-Europe are not uncommon...

Oct 14 AC871 CDG-YUL, there was an AF plane apparently stuck at the gate due to maintenance issues. We were herded onto a shuttle bus for a ride to the middle of the airfield where (thankfully) the 777 was. Unfortunately, the plane was not groomed yet so we waited on the bus for 20 minutes... Once on board, the J crew were rather indifferent (a contrast to our trip down when the crew was superlative) AND we were an hour late. Many had tight connections and no one was there to help us get through security etc. Having paid $2300 one way in J, this experience was a disappointment...
