So, got on next MEM-BHM NWA flight, though got to enjoy MEM airport for next 5 hours .

However, when my miles for that day were posted, I saw an addition bonus of 250 EQM posted to my account. Now, since I will qualify on points,not miles, it makes no difference to me, but I just wanted to say that it was a very nice gesture for NWA to do this, as I was no expecting it at all, especially since problem was weather.
