Seat selection, along with 100% status miles, is a benefit of Tango Plus fares. Tango fares get seat selection for an additional charge and 25% non-status miles.
Right. The "A la carte" thing. Negative unbundling. Disallow things that cost nothing in the first place in order to charge more for it when someone is willing to pay. AKA as nickel and diming. New business model.
Best example being BD. Then even when you have paid more for a changeable fare, the gate agent still doesn't feel like doing it. since it's not what 99% vof the people paid for anyway, the folks get used to this being some esoteric thing from the past with no current value, right?
Anyway, end result of tryingt to have it both ways. Yes, if you try being a low cost/no frills airline but also a full service one to the people willing to pay, you end up as a low cost. Because that's what your own people see it.
