With all due respect, bspencerco, if it were simply a matter of currency conversion, there would be no difference in actual cost.
$1,500 = approx. 1,060 Euros at today's exchange rate
The difference in actual cost may be attributed either to higher European national origination fees (especially ex-UK where these excise fees are very high especially when using a discount R or Z fare as the basis) or simply that CO is pricing the product differently based on their analysis of the European demand for J, or a combination of the two factors.
