Let me put it this way: of all the things that might distress a person, being asked for an Aeroplan card is surely so trivial it is barely worth mentioning. And when we consider the range of difficult emotions that come with the big things in life, like death or major illness, feeling anything about it--let alone humiliated--is hardly worth the effort.
