Happens to me all of the time. When I look any reservation I have an EVIP pending, Virtually There (www.virtuallythere.com) has me listed twice. Once for my Y seat (d%*$ cheap employer) and once as "Meal Listed" in J.

I was told that they do this because they load J meals based on the number of sold seats + meal listed pax. So, following this logic, it is quite possible there would not be enough J meals if upgrades were not "meal listed" before being granted the upgrades.
