When you strive to get the best price there are restrictions. You cannot combine the rentals. You will have to return the car and get a recpt and start the new rental. You don't have to get a new car if you don't want to, unless MIA wants you to. But heck, get a clean car! Yes it's inconvenient but that's how you get the cheap rates, with restrictions. Sorry. I work for Alamo/National, that's how I know. There's no way around it, especially if you booked this through prepaid Priceline.
