On my last flight to EZE channel 9 was nothing but blank. I was sitting in FC and asked the purser, prior to taxi, to please ask the captain to turn ATC on. He got on the phone and after hanging told me the captain said "Nope!" I smiled and said no problem, I'll razz him about it when he comes back to FC for his meal and sleep after takeoff.

The purser got back on the phone and CLICK! on came ATC. I guess ol' captain didn't want anyone messing with his meal and sleep time!!
