Are you sure? delta.com says that DL117 is simply running late - left STR about 2 hours late and arriving ATL with a 2 hour delay..

Edit: looks like it was the outbound last night ATL-STR (DL116) that was diverted to FRA this morning. Hence the return is 2+ hours late.
