How tall are you? The tri-fold is awesome if you're taller -- my longbodied 6'2" husband has one and it fits his jackets without them wrinkling at the bottom. It's light for it's size so you're not hauling a bunch of luggage weight. And it can fit 1 pair of size 14 shoes in it, along with one size 56 suit, one pair of slacks and 3 shirts -- though it's rather round at that fullness.

For a smaller person, it's not as good because the lenth is hard to use to your advantage. So at 5'5", my trousers hang in such a way that the inside fold gets the double thickness all the time unless I stagger the hanging lengths.

Personally, I don't like that the end to which the hook is attached is the inside fold -- makes it hard to hang it up and change in the bathroom, you need to lie it down to get it unclipped and hung up unless you have a +6' wingspan.

So, really, it depends on how tall you are. If you need that extra length for your jackets, it's the bomb-diggitdy, if you don't then there are better choices.
