I did my honeymoon in NZ and stayed mostly in Best Westerns. What great memories this brings back.

My favorite part was that every room came with a small carton of milk, presumably to use with tea. My wife and I bought a large bag of rice kripsies and had breakfast in bed each morning.


As I recall, the hotels were independantly operated and the hosts were incredibly friendly.
