You can do better than Denny's... I think they have at least 2 Applebees out there!

I have researched this question before. I found a few recommendations for a place called the Steer 'N Stein in Victorville. I tried it once - place was busy and had to wait a little - it was decent. But that is mainly steak. There was another place called Chateau Chang that was supposed to be the best for "fine dining" out in the high desert - and has several great reviews if you google them - but have never tried it myself (I usually end up at one of the chains like Outback or Red Lobster -- I live on the westside of LA and we do not have a lot of those chains close by - so going to them on the drive to Vegas is a bit of a novelty).
