No passport stamp on European entry = problems on exit?

When I arrived in FRA last Monday morning (via SQ from JFK ^) in transit to BRU, the agent at passport control just waved me through without stamping my passport. I transit through FRA often and the agent always stamps me as it is my first point of entry into Europe.

When passing through passport control this morning, the agent scrutinized my passport and asked when I entered. I said "to be honest, when I arrived on Monday to transit through FRA, the agent didn't stamp my passport." He looked up at me, looked like he was about to question me further, and then stamped my passport and told me to have a nice flight.

I wonder if others have had similar or different (more painful) experiences...
