Not one, single piece of chocolate. This kind of stingy behaviour is what I associate with low cost airlines. But on these airlines, at least you can actually buy some food if you get hungry. Which I tend to do whilst sitting on economy class in KLM for 12 hours.
What about the food service KLM actually offer? Well, how much the so-called sea food lasagne that I got on Europe Select from AMS to BGO recently (an award ticket)actually cost I don't know, (my options were "do you want meat or seafood") but if it was more than 5 EUR I would be surprised. I would gladly pay 10 EUR for something better.
How they get away with this kind of service is mind boggling. After all, maybe we would be better off paying specifically for items like food and drink. And one could pay upon booking, just like in Niki Lauda's airline

You are very right service is deplorable on KLM, in Europe Niki/ Air Berlin amazing compared what KLM offer, on HKG to Europe try Oasis, miles ahead of KL and a fraction of the price
Plus the likes of Air Berlin/Niki and HLX/TUI - Hapag Lloyd have their own FF programmes now
